Well, I don’t have any pictures to share right now.  So I figured I’d do something a little different.  Not as exciting I’m sure, but still a post.

So, my name is Patti Finton.  I was born and raised in the great state of Alabama.  I have a big family who knows the true meaning of togetherness.  I was raised on a farm and I know the meaning of a hard days work.

Yea, kidding.

Okay, so there is some truth in between all of that…maybe…I guess…  My name is Patti Finton.  I was born and raised…well, okay I was born in Cortland, NY and I was raised, well, everywhere.  I lived in Sempronius, NY, then Clearwater, FL, then moved back to Homer, NY, then again to Cortland, NY.  I ended up staying in Cortland through most of my college career.  When college was over I ended up moving to the great town of Oneonta.  I lived there for two years (okay no it’s not great).  I then moved back to FL but this time to New Port Richey.  I stayed there for awhile and that was where Erik was born – then we moved back up to the grand ole’ state of NY.  We lived in Binghamton for awhile, then we sold our house and now live on Song Lake in Tully.

That’s my life.  The epitome of it all.  That’s all she wrote, folks.

Yea, kidding.

Kind of.  : )

I do come from a very large family.  My dad had 6 half/step siblings, and my mom had 5 siblings.  My dad really never got along with his family, with the exception of one sister, my Aunt Pinky.  So I guess we are what you would call estranged from my father’s family.  We never talk to them, especially since my father passed away (oh, and my dad passed away in February of 2009).  My mom wasn’t really close with her family either – so even though I do have a huge family, I don’t really.  So that whole togetherness is not how you would define my family.  My dad’s family is all in Florida, some of my mom’s is here in NY.  So, my family is my boys.

And I have the most amazing family ever, thankyousomuch.

I never used to be a dog person, but they are so much a part of my life now that you can’t define me without bringing them up.  I love my pups, and they love me.  The devotion they give me is, awesome.

Sometimes I think too much and believe that I’m not interesting.  I’m an ultra perfectionist as well.  There, now you know some of my downfalls.

On the other hand, I give all of myself in everything I do.  And I promise you, I know how to love.  And love we do.

I think that writing can be therapeutic.  I also think that laying in bed with your husband can be too, so sometimes one wins over the other.

And the better one is going to win right now.

We have the worst bathroom in the entire world.  Seriously.  One wouldn’t understand how poor ole me can live in such squalor. Luckily, I am only in there for necessary things, and the act of blowdrying my hair is such a tedious task it doesn’t happen often. Brandon has also been trying to make my life a little better, and has been getting cabinets and such to make life in the bathroom less stressful.

Erik likes to help Daddy put everything together, of course.

We like sunflowers here.  Ashley and I planted a flower garden at the beginning of the summer, packed with sunflowers and other pretty flowers.  Well, apparently sunflowers are hearty, and survived through the excessive weeds still left in the flower garden.  They are the only ones that did end up growing, but they are beautiful.

Prepare for a picture overload.

Erik loves the sunflowers and gets pretty excited about them.  He thinks they’re fun because they’re so much taller than he is.  And he also not allowed to stand in the flower garden, and since I asked him to do just that so I could take his picture, he thought he was pretty freaking cool.

Excuse Brandon’s clothes – he just got done waterskiing.  Honestly, I’m surprised he could reach up that far afterwards.  : )  (it makes him a little sore)

We ended up having to go inside, because Erik started getting bit.

So we went over to Ashley’s house to visit the chicks.  They’re in the very cute stage, and Erik loves them.

Ashley’s cat Henry also likes it when we visit.

I’m off to read a hundred chapters in World Religions in America.  Envy my life.

OK so I have been uncharacteristically extremely tired. If I didn’t already have mono I would be sure I had it now. So I am here, alive, but asleep.

This past weekend we got the pleasure of visiting my friend Mary and her family in Pompton Lakes, NJ.  I haven’t seen Mary in quite some time – since I was working in Oneonta, so it was great to see her.  And to meet her little Hailey.  So cute.

I waited until Friday to pack since we were only going for a weekend trip.  I’m ultra organized when I pack.  Erik thinks it’s kind of funny.

He was so ready to go all day.  He was really excited.

He couldn’t wait to go.  All day long he would say “Mommy let’s pack,” even when we were packing.

We had a pretty uneventful 3 hour drive to Jersey from Binghamton.  Admittedly I slept for a little bit of the way (the Patti kind of sleep – which means just laying there with my eyes closed).  Once we got to Jersey, it was nothing but love baby.

Erik has fallen head over heels.  And I’m okay with that.  They have proclaimed themselves best friends, and they couldn’t be more adorable.

We also went and got pedicures which resulted in Tricia having inappropriate feelings for her pedicure lady.  Hailey ended up with the cutest piggies, of course.

The nice lady at the salon gave her a huge lollipop, which she immediately started enjoying.

Tee hee.

So, that’s that.  We had a wonderful time people, so be jealous.  : )

Oh, and they have an adorable dog named Buster who likes to watch people.  And we all know I’m a sucker for dogs.

Jailbreaking iPhone apps is now legal.

So Brandon and I have been going on about the bat problem around here, but now it’s becoming national news.

I feel bad, because last year I kept begging they would disappear.

My confession for the day is that, honestly, I’m exhausted.  I’ve been up since 6 a.m. my dear friends, and this old gal doesn’t function as well on little sleep as I used to.  Granted I regularly don’t get a whole lot of sleep, but this morning I was required to get up and actually do something.  So alas, I am a tired girl.

I do have some more pictures to share, but I must point out that I have a very hard time editing pictures on Brandon’s iMac.  I have been putting the pictures on here to give my MacBook’s harddrive a bit of a break (heck it’s about to break), but the screen on here is so different that I don’t really know if I’m editing right.  I promise you, my screen looks 1000 times different than most everyone else’s.  This Mac has the ability to make everything look…prettier (which is good for my crappy ego).  So here is my apology to anyone whose picture may be up on here and the colors or off or whatnot.  I try not to edit them too much – especially the pictures that are taken outside.  I’m all about the natural light, the more the better, so those pictures usually don’t get touched much.

I have been giving my girl a break (my girl = my camera).  I haven’t been taking pictures everyday like I was for awhile.  Partly because as I pointed out in my last post, we are mad busy, and partly because as I pointed out in the previous paragraph, harddrives are getting full.  I have been taking about 300 shots a month. Ouch.  We all know I won’t give it up though.

Without further ado, here are some shots from Kristin and Dave’s wedding that was on Saturday.

This first set are pictures that Brandon and I took ourselves before the wedding.  Hence why the hair still looks pristine (it succumbs to flatness in subsequent pictures).

I suppose I could have played with the colors and made some black and white, but sorry, our colors are too fab (thanks Adri) to do something like that.  And we totally match.

Okay here are some from the actual wedding.

It was a beautiful wedding.  Brandon definitely does have a beautiful family (my in-laws) as well, which helps.

And speaking of beautiful, my husband tops ‘em all.

Enjoy your Monday.  I know I am.

So strangely enough, I am still alive.  We have been going through the motions of life but barely getting to sit down and just live.  Life has been unusually hectic, and well, I like it.

And the next thing to register on the strange-o-meter, I still have some pics from our garage sale that happened forever ago.

This here is my dear friend Jen looking oh so happy.  I’m sure she will murder me for this picture.  It’s alright.  I’m prepared to be murdered.  I’m a happy little girl, so I don’t mind.  : )

And this, this is my baby Lizzy.  I know I’ve already posted about her, but man, we love this puppy.  As well as her sister, Miley.

So moving on…Erik has decided that he has started to like going in the lake all by himself.  This is a large feat for our little, as last year for awhile we couldn’t only get him to walk in up to his shins.  Now he goes up to his chin.  I love watching him do it, and I am reminded everyday how much he has grown.  I can’t believe that he is such a big boy.  I am so proud of him though.  He is starting to learn to have no fear, and runs full speed at life.  I can’t wait to see him grow up and watch him go to his first day of school, and listen to his voice change, and watch him graduate.  My boy is special, he makes me happy, and damn is he cute.

Aunt Ashley has also been teaching him how to be a fishy since he will go in the water now.

And he loves it.  And Aunt Ashley.

Generally here at the lake it’s a dog pow wow.  This summer is no exception.  We enjoy having them around though.  Because, hell, we are completely dog people.

Lee likes to fish.

This weekend we also got the blessing of watching Jen’s puppies again!  Despite the minor accidents we love having them here.  We actually ended up with five dogs Friday night.  People must think we’re going out of our minds since our house is pretty tiny, but honestly, it was no big deal.  They’re much fun.  And, quite funny.

We had a wedding yesterday that we attended, so of course I have some photos from that.  Surprisingly enough, I really don’t have that many.  Next post.

I must be high on life or something, because I can’t sleep.  This girl is going on about 3 and a half hours of sleep.  My poor husband is ready to kill me I think.  On those wonderful nights that I can’t sleep, he always wakes up, and in his half asleep state, gets crispy at me for being awake.  He always apologizes later when he wakes up, but it’s still kind of funny.

Well I’m off.  Not like a prom dress, though.
