Alright, so, a reflection on my past 29 years has resulted in me finding out about all of the things that I haven’t done that I’ve always wanted to do, so I am making a list of 30 things that I am determined to do before I turn 30.  I am stealing this idea from my childhood best friend, Shawnessy Dusseau – whose website is here: http://shawny-30before30.blogspot.com/

Now I realize that I have to be realistic in my goals, as funds are limited and time is as well.  Being a mother and a wife doesn’t leave a lot of room to just fly to Australia for the week since I don’t have class.  And, I also realize that some of these things have already come to fruition, but I’m putting them on there because they are that important to me (and I haven’t actually done them yet).

And…I also figure it’s a way for me to actually use the website we are paying for.  I’ll try and put in normal family posts like I used to as well.

1.  Have a reason to get a passport, and actually get one.

2.  Go to a country outside of North America.

3.  Take Drake to a dog park for the day.

4.  Take Erik to the Museum of Play.

5.  Go see a symphony.

6.  Go to an art museum (other than MOMA, since I’ve already been there).

7.  Put some funky colored stripes in my hair (and real ones, not the clip on kind).

8.  Go sailing.

9.  Get new sheets for my bed (yes, I know some people may say just buy some sheets, but it is much more complex than this).

10.  Own a pair of stylish boots.

11.  Buy a nice looking jacket that’s not a North Face.

12.  Vote for something other than a Presidential election (I admit, I’ve never done it).

13.  See my good friend Lauren’s daughter, Ava.

14. Make a pie.  This is going to be way harder than it sounds.

15.  See my niece graduate and get her an awesome present.

16.  Redo my bathroom (I’m going with anything on this one including, painting, doing the floor, finding new furniture for in there, anything counts).

17.  Go school shopping for Erik and not cry.

18.  Clean out my desk.

19.  Get a speedlight flash for my camera.

20.  Completely finish a paper or project a week before it is due.

21.  Get a nose ring.

22.  Iron every piece of clothing that I own.

23.  Read ALL of Anna Karenina.

24.  Do something amazingly special for Brandon just so he knows I love him.

25.  Do something amazingly special for Erik just so he knows I love him.

26.  Paint something that I would be willing to display.

27.  Learn to play a full song on the piano, without looking, both hands included.

28.  Visit my dad’s gravesite.

29.  Hook a friend up with someone that they will actually be interested in.

30.  Catch a fish in Song Lake.

Alright, this is it.  I hope I don’t have to change something, and I promise I will update, with pictures, whenever I get something done.

Happy 29th Birthday to me.  :-)

…kudos to Melissa for making me the cake.

I’ve lost my ability to write.  Obviously not my physical ability as I haven’t the need to invest in one of those speak-into-the-tube-to-type keyboards.  But, my wittiness has left me.  I have started to blog many times, even tried to imagine lots of people reading it – but nothing comes.  A lot of babble comes up that I don’t even find interesting.  So, alas even though I suck, I’m still here to give the blog some love.  Someones gotta.

Well Brandon’s birthday was over a month ago and since my age is apparently showing now – I can’t remember exactly everything that happened.  I do remember cooking a not so great dinner (my first time and it didn’t turn out perfectly), but having friends come over and enjoy good cake.

I also took the liberty of decorating the house in blue and orange.  We bleed orange in this house.

Brandon’s present from me was the lovely hoodie that he is wearing.

After we did our dinner, and the cake with family, we just spent the rest of the night at home with our little family.

I have to say the dogs have really become BFFs lately.  I don’t know why.  They’re pretty much inseparable, and they lay together all the time.

I guess you can’t choose your family – but you can choose to love them.

I realized while almost falling asleep that lately the blog has become less witty and less well, angry.  It has become more, happy -ish and picture-y.   Random question – Does anyone else have epiphanies and clear minds when they’re on the brink of sleep? Anyway.  Witty doesn’t always come naturally to me.  Especially when I spend a lot of my time reading books I don’t find interesting.  It fills my brain with uninteresting and dull things, and then I feel dull and uninteresting.  My wittiness leaves me, so you get pictures instead.

I like the pictures better.

Last week was Ashley’s birthday, so we had a dinner for her on Sunday at the lake.  Brandon’s mom made the highly desired ice cream cake.  I think Ashley liked it.  A lot.

Brandon finally decided to put up the tire swing (with no heckling from me, course).  There was much fun to be had on the tire swing, and both Erik and Ashley got lots of enjoyment out of it.

I did manage to get some cute pictures of Erik and Ashley.  Well, and Brandon did, too.

There’s nothing better than having dirty knees and enjoying summer to the fullest.  It’s always better when you have family to spend it with, because it always ends in lots of laughs.

Speaking of laughs – Leroy got a little jealous when Ashley was up on the tire swing.  Or he was being overprotective.  Either way, he got a little frisky about her being up there.  And there was lots of jumping.  And giggling.

All pictures compliment of Brandon.

It has been quite cold for June in lovely CNY – in fact so cold I’m sitting in a sweatshirt, pants, and Brandon’s obnoxiously large hunting socks.  So we haven’t been doing much of that loving summer thing.  In fact, there has been much of the staying in the house and catching up on homework while we wait until it properly heats up thing.  At least we had last weekend.

Even if there were a couple of minor falls.

I bid you all a fond farewell.  I have a busy next few days, so if you don’t hear from me, best wishes, and here’s to hoping the sun is out there somewhere.

Today was Erik’s third birthday *kindofparty*.  With Suzie being in the hospital, it was only Brandon’s family and us.  Erik still had fun, and enjoyed his George cake.  If I was three, I would want a George cake, so I understood.  Hell, I just want cake, all the time.  Right….

I have these like articles things I’m supposed to be reading.  For some odd class.  What class was that?  Oh some class on intimate relationships.  I guess just regular relationships are not worth focusing on.  So if your relationship isn’t intimate, don’t talk to me about it.  Ssshhhh…don’t tell me, it’s not an intimate enough relationship and I will not bother myself with it.  *EXTREME EYE ROLL*

With my extreme disgust comes an extreme lack of motivation.  I think I will go to bed soon.  Besides the fact that Brandon is snoring so loud the bed is shaking.  No problems though.  As we all know how sound of a sleeper I am and can just fall asleep anytime anywhere.  HA!

Oh oh oh, I have to review Grand Torino.  Oh and The Lost Symbol.  Remind me already.
