Well I think I figured out how to quickly update the blogs and enabled comments, so feel free to leave some.

This is just a quick note to let everyone know this. I switched to the apple mobile me account for the time being to see how we like it.

Other than that Erik is well. He is talking a ton now. He can say pretty much, everything. We can understand almost everything. ;-)

Well we finally got Erik a costume. It was much debate, as the kid decided he hated anything that would go on his head. But for risk or ruining a surprise, I save telling everyone what it is until they see pictures. I suppose you probably could get it out of Erik’s Aunt as she got a matching costume so she could come trick-or-treating with us. She cracks me up. :-)

So we finally figured out what the “ba-ba” thing he has been saying means. In nepalese, which his sitter is from Nepal, the word for sit sounds like “bah.” So, that’s what he has been saying. It’s funny because if he won’t sit I will then ask him to do so in spanish, and then if that doesn’t work I’ll use “bah.” He sits immediately. I guess he knows his sitter means business!

Erik burned his arm on the pellet stove at the camp last Friday. Poor kid. He has this tub of toys that set a little off to the side of the pellet stove. He has this set of a shovel and rake, and he was trying to pull the shovel out of the tub. He kind of flung his arm back and hit the stove. This is all assumption really after examining the crime scene. I was right around the corner on the stairs painting, but Erik didn’t start crying. He just came over and sat on my lap and then I noticed he was trying not to cry. He was doing the lip quiver thing. I kept asking him what was wrong and he wouldn’t tell me, so I finally started like turning him over trying to figure out if he hurt himself. I then noticed the red arm. I asked him if he burned himself and he nodded and then started to cry. Poor kid. I think he thought he was in trouble because he knows he is not allowed to touch the stove. What a well behaved little man though. It didn’t look so bad at first, but then it got huge. It turned colors as well, so Brandon and I decided that we should get it checked out by the dr. The dr. said it was okay and gave us some prescription burn cream, but it gave us a scare anyway. He also had hives, which we are assuming is from one of the laundry detergents I decided to use. They are finally starting to go away though. Thank God.

So, as of late, Erik has been speaking fluent chinese. I mean, neither Brandon nor I speak chinese, but we assume this is the language he is speaking. It sure as heck sounds like it. You will ask him a question, lets say, Erik do you want to eat. He will respond with hungyachunyingwaaa… Then I’ll say, do you speak English, he will reply assheemimhim. Maybe that last one was indian. It’s nice having a tri (or more) lingual child. He must be one of those savants you know. Never hearing the language, just knowing it. We are truly blessed.

Okay, I’m done being sarcastic. Erik honestly is talking a lot more. He says please and kind of thank you. He definitely has please juice and cup down (all essentials, good kid). He has given up on oh my god for the time being. I haven’t heard him say it in awhile. He goes through phases apparently. He’s definitely in his chinese phase right now…

Well as I haven’t gotten any help at ALL on the halloween costume front, I’m gonna have to surge forward on my own. Poor child, will probably end up in some Roxy clothing or something. ;-)

Erik is really starting to talk. His favorite thing to say is “oh my god.” He walks around saying it to everything. Then “uh oh” is his other favorite. He calls Drake Dede. I have no idea where he got that from, but he is pretty accurate, Drake is a De De. He also tells the dogs to “sit” but he hasn’t quite mastered the short “t” yet. We try to work on a new work everyday. Today we went for “okay,” but for some reason he couldn’t get the “oh” of the okay. He can say uh oh and oh my god though. He confuses me. He says what sounds like “ba ba” a lot, but from what we can decipher we think he is saying his sitter’s name, Radha. One can only imagine what’s going on in his head.

If you read in my blog Erik had his first encounter with a horse. He loved to pet him, and touch him. He wasn’t afraid of him at all, until Brandon tried to put Erik on the horse. That wasn’t the best idea, he kind of, screamed. It was cute, course.
