My heart is happy.

Yesterday Erik and I decided to be domestic and baked.  We made those mini cheesecake things – the ones with the vanilla wafers on the bottom.  Delicious if I may say so…  Erik likes to help me bake though.  He isn’t so interested in eating them, but interested in helping (who does that?).  And since I told him they were cakes, he wanted to make sure we put candles in them.

After our cheesecakes were done Erik decided it was time to read the newspaper.  He chose the comics, of course.

Today was another beautiful day in CNY.  Literally, beautiful.  I ended up being stuck in the house reading, the Bible (I have another post on that – don’t worry).  After lunch I was finally able to venture outside and gave up on reading.

Erik has decided he likes to water plants as of late.  Just the last few days of course.  He gets on these random kicks, where he becomes obsessed with something and it’s all he wants to do.  All day long. Right now it’s the watering. Couple days ago it was Drake.  I wonder what tomorrow will be.

I had an awesome night with my boys (all of them).  We went to Highland Forest tonight for a small walk.  Erik ended up not napping so our walk wasn’t so long.  He was ready to be carried about 20 feet from the car.  It was still nice though to get the dogs out.  After we did our exercise, in true American fashion, we went and got ice cream.  It was quite delicious, though.

When we got home we went and sat down by the lake.  I was still eating my ice cream because apparently I’m slow…so we just sat for a little while.  The whole time we were sitting we were attempting to get the dogs to NOT go in the lake.  Obliviously fruitless attempt for the Finton dogs, but hey, we can still try.

As anyone who has read my blog has realized that I like the “just getting dark” pictures, I was lucky enough to have a beautiful night outside with the boys…so of course I took a ton of pictures.  And tonight I got to take some shadow/silhouette pictures, which are my favorite.  And well, probably one of the hardest to do.  Brandon tried to get some of me, but, well, he then discovered how difficult it was when you were really trying to do it.   : )  He tried, and I really appreciate it.  He’s still an amazing photographer.

Without further ado…(even though you probably already looked down…)

Now these next pictures are probably some of the hardest to take.  They appear to be the hardest to post, as well.

The love I have for these boys fills up my heart.  I’m so glad I am able to take pictures like this of them.

I do have to admit that living on a lake has its advantages, and being able to take pictures like this is one of them.

But here, is my absolute favorite from tonight.  My boy.  This one is definitely going to be printed.  So handsome.

I don’t know what I ever did to deserve a family this beautiful and wonderful, but I sure hope I keep doing it.

I love being in a comfortable relationship that when one says I love you, and the other says yeah, whatever, it’s not offensive.

Total random train of thought…anyway.  Last night we had a great night with some friends.  It was our friend Jen’s birthday so we all went to Ichiban Steakhouse in Liverpool (no, sadly, not in the UK).  It was an awesome time had by all, including Jen, who was extremely afraid of the guy with the lighter…

He was an interesting chef, that one.  Food was great, and I think a plate may have come up missing.  Hmm…strange!

Everyone.  Aw, Jen is loved.

Afterward, well more likely much afterward, most everyone shuffled back to our house for a bonfire down by the lake.  In true Thompson Point tradition, we go big or go home.  The bonfire was huge at first.  Towering way over Brandon’s head.

Looks very cool, anyway.  By the time everyone got here it luckily had calmed down.  Julie had brought a cake for Jen (or maybe someone else, I can’t remember – I promise drinking wasn’t…too…much involved in that).  The cake was amazing, so buy Tops cake.  And Tops, you can pay me now for advertising for you.

Once everyone left, Brandon and I wandered back into our house. I read and Brandon well, he went to sleep.  Brandon is usually pretty good about doing that.  You can always count on him, he’ll pull through for you.

Then today we had a pretty unexciting day.  I felt like complete hell this morning.  I think someone smashed my head with a hammer whilst I was sleeping.  Actually, no, it’s from mowing the lawn yesterday.  We decided to do some yard work later in the afternoon, and I mowed the lawn.  Well, most people who know me know that I’m violently allergic to grass.  It usually doesn’t bother me too much until it touches me.  When people cut their grass I just usually get stuffy and a sinus headache but it goes away, so I thought I’d be fine.  Apparently, I’m not.  Someone just remind me to take allergy meds BEFORE I go outside to do something that is classified as insanity.

Well, nothing really exciting has happened. We spent the weekend at the lake, and helped Brandon’s grandfather put together a shed. That was a fun filled day! Honestly, it wasn’t that bad. Brandon got a bit tired afterwards but he survived.

Then on Sunday we went to meet Scout, my mother-in-laws new horse. Erik was not so fond of the horse. I don’t think he liked the height. Well, Lyn doesn’t plan on getting rid of the horse anytime soon, and she promised Erik she would have a horse for him to ride once he got big enough. So, at least we will have pictures of him very young on a horse. Even if he was screaming. Ahem…

I like my mac, but the more stuff I do with it the slower I’m noticing it get. Granted, I do have the white one, so I guess the “lowest” model. I think it was the more expensive white one if that counts. Brandon and I tried to import stuff off of our camcorder and it about killed it. It was interesting.
I really don’t have many friends. It’s getting worse as the days pass. Marisa kind of forgets about me, Amy hates me and won’t talk to me, and Mary is in Hawaii. I talk to Lauren and Katie on and off, but they both live quite far away. That’s….about…..it. I suck. Oh well. At least I have my dogs that follow me around everywhere. Haha. They’re both Mom’s boys.

Things have been well with Erik lately. He has been learning more and more words everyday. He always says the word “dog” every time he hears one bark. It’s great.

Erik has returned to his sitter Radha. As he loves it there, we couldn’t be more happier to have her watch him again. Radha’s daughter Ekshya and Erik love playing together. He is always so happy when we go pick him up. Radha and Ubaraj and great friends and we appreciate them very much.

Erik isn’t so fond of water. He loves to go out on the boat, but does not like to swim. Grandpa Finton is the only one that was able to get him in the water at all. We will keep trying though, as Brandon and I both love being at the lake. Erik does as well, but screams when he gets in the water. So funny.
