As Brandon would say, this is one of the “easier ones.”  It didn’t take too much effort on my part, but, it’s not something that I’ve ever done, and wouldn’t have done if I hadn’t put it on this list.  It’s not that I don’t think voting is useful, but I have never found a reason to vote in a non-presidential election year. On the Preble ballot this year, there was only 4 different categories to actually vote for.  And honestly, is that really worth my time?

But, it really is.  And as we so quickly realized as I was laying in bed with a pounding headache insisting that I could wait until another time to get this task done, if I didn’t do it on election day this year, I would have missed the boat. Brandon graciously pointed out that would mean I failed.  Thanks Husband.

So, I voted.

It was the first time I had been in the Preble Fire Hall because the last time I voted we lived in Binghamton.  I voted for county legislator, town justice, town council, and town highway superintendent.  As Brandon expressed his admiration for me finally voting, I rolled my eyes and though to myself, I should be doing this every year.  I will from now on.

I feel like the roaming gnome.

I had to include this picture because my kid is cute.

I’m getting these tasks done quickly!  Then again, it seems like I’m getting the easy ones done first.  Slacker.

Stress.  Total.

Okay maybe it’s not as bad as I’m putting off.  I’m just getting really sick of this healthcare stuff.  I’m a liberal democrat, so one would think I’m on board.  I’m not on board…I don’t so much agree with some of the healthcare bill (law?)  I also am not so fond of how much it is dividing the country.  I guess it’s the pacifist in me.  No violence, and no..well, pissing people off non stop and everyone hating each other.  Is it really worth it?

So that causes me stress.  I probably get bothered by it too much.  I hate all of the chaos.  Hatehatehatehate.

Okay, so I’m not big on pushing my political ideologies on anyone.  Nor am I even interested in getting in a tirade while speaking to my husband about it in the comfort of my home.  It stresses me out too much, and I get fed up with feeling stressed out.

But, well, this struck me as funny.  I generally read the BBC for my news, because, I like them.  That’s pretty much the only reason.  Haha.  Anyway, they had a news story on the televised health care reform from today.  This is how the article ended:

“The US is the world’s richest nation and the only industrialised democracy that does not provide healthcare coverage to all its citizens.”

Such a stab at the American government!  I love it.  And yet there are still people out there that are fighting this thing tooth and nail.  I think it’s time to move, to like, England or something.
