Our Honeymoon
For our honey moon we stayed at La Tourelle in the Executive Fireside Suite; it was amazingly beautiful! Friday night (the 29th), we enjoyed an hour long massage at the August Moon Spa in the lower level of the resort.
On Saturday, we went on a 6 hour wine tour that included eight different wineries and lunch. We had a driver from Quality Wine Tours in Rochester pick us up at the front door of the Spa and take us around Cayuga Lake.
We stopped first at King’s Ferry Winery on the East Shore where we had a private tasting with the Wine maker Apprentice/Assistant Wine maker. We learned a lot from him about the different wines and purchased our first bottle of Ice Wine called “Eis” but we also really enjoyed their Semi Dry Riesling.
Our next stop, just a few miles up the road from King’s Ferry, was Long Point Winery maker’s of our favorite wine “Moon Puppy.” We again sampled a variety of their wines and purchased a bottle of Moon Puppy and our only white wine from the tour, Vidal Blanc (And we both considered ourselves white wine drinkers until recently).
For lunch we enjoyed fine dining at the Aurora Inn.
After lunch we visited six more wineries, all on the West Shore (with exception of Montezuma on the North Shore).
